What Do You Think About Trump Seizing Venezuela Oil Tankers

I think it’s the absolute right action to take. I think I know the reason, which most of the media won’t talk about.

Tell me what you think and I’ll tell you mine.

1) They are trying to bankrupt Venezuela, hoping this drives Maduro into exile.
2) Denying Cuba low cost Petroleum hurts their economy and might pressure the residents to overthrow their communist dictatorship.
3) Denying China Petroleum is just another way to anger Xi.

I’m not talking about the benefits of the actions, I’m talking about the justification.

Justification?
We don't need Justification! We are America, the last remaining Superpower.

We do what we want.

No, there is actual justification. Hint: What did Hugo Chavez do with foreign oil projects and assets?

Why is Venezuela broke despite having record oil reserves? Greed?

Personal Anecdote

I used to work for a company that supplied oil field maintenance equipment to oil companies. Venezuela got most of our shipments. Then Hugo took over. He needed all that oil revenue to fund his lifestyle and his progressive promises so he spent nothing on maintenance in the oilfields. Their yields kept declining.

Now Venezuela is broke and starving. Mexico made the same mistake after they nationalized their oilfields.

Official justification is that the tankers were falsely flagged and contain sanctioned oil that is being sold to finance a narco-terrorist state.

At least one tanker was unflagged which is illegal in international waters.

Venezuela owes a debt that is currently being involuntarily paid.
