Why?
1)Healthcare is better able to keep assault victims alive?
2) Gun laws are working?
3) More guns ever, and more dangerous doesn't seem to increase the murder rate?
4) Foreign nationals don't seem to increase the murder rate.
5) Mental illness doesn't seem to affect it.
6) Nor gang violence?
7) School shootings seem to not matter or are just a random data point.
8) The random serial killers in the past seem to have fallen by the wayside.

Peak periods? Was murder one of the side effects of Prohibition?

What was happening in the 60's and 70's that caused it to peak?

Freakanomics wants to blame violence on lead paint and lead gasoline in the 60's and 70's, but those materials were also available from 1900 to 1950.

Maybe it’s because the FBI is now focused on criminals instead of Republican politicians and voters? Crime magically declines when criminals are removed from society. I know that’s a tough concept for Democrats to grasp, but it’s true.
