Raising Prices To Stop Hoarding?

Many US states have laws that prevent stores from raising prices during panic buying. I think these need to be repealed. And I actually encourage stores to raise prices to prevent hoarding.

When a weather event comes, our biological instinct is to buy/consume more than we actually need. If you double or triple the price on bread, there should be enough for everyone instead of some a-hole buying 10 loaves of bread and 500 eggs. Perishable food that will go bad before they use it all.

I’m so happy I live far away from cities. Imagine a one week power outage in the Denver metro area. There wouldn’t just be empty shelves…

We always have about two weeks at least worth of food. Do Americans really not have basic staples in their home?

I have 6 months worth of freeze dried food for my wife and I. We are also surrounded by lakes full of fish that don’t get fished very often. I’m currently back on my morning trout diet instead of eggs.
