In that the President submits a budget to Congress and Congress has he power of the press, it is hard to see how you can blame President Trump for the spending. Do you have specific accounts where Trump applied executive power to increase spending where, in your opinion, it wasn't warranted.

Not the way I understand the budgeting process. The Democrat representative and the Republican representative hammer out a budget with presidential oversight.

So Trump could choose to do more to limit spending, but his agenda is more important.

That fact is, the margins are too thin for Trump to get anywhere on cutting spending. Democrats and losers like Murkowski will always block those efforts. Why should Trump waste any time on a fruitless pursuit of spending cuts? He’s getting things done that Democrats can’t block.
