f you give A's to most students, the excellent ones will stop trying as hard. They will stagnate. Doing the minimum.
And if you keep advancing children to the next grade, they have no reason to learn the material.
Isn't the bell curve still used? Guess I'm ancient.

It isn't. 80% of students at Harvard earn A's or A-'s.
Irony? A few years after graduating Harvard, employers no longer care about your GPA.
