High taxes driving people elsewhere? Or tired of restrictions and fraud?

I know of people who work in high tax states but retire to states that have zero income taxes.

Also, people living in states with no or low state income tax still pay Federal Income Tax.

I know one man who grew up in Nebraska, served and retired with a military pension. His whole family still lives in Nebraska. He lives in Texas because of no state income tax.

He pinches pennies until they squeak.
