Despite the whiners, each generation earns more than the generation before it. Congratulations America!

Two can live as cheaply as one? Makes sense when seniors with health concerns living in three bedroom homes invite their children back home.

And by not paying those outrageous rents, landlords will have to start lowering prices.

I think the actual reason is that there is more money, that is worth less, in circulation. I'd love to see that chart adjusted for inflation . . .

My Pa, in 1964, on a salary of about $8300/year was able to provide a home for a wife and 3 kids (2 more joined the brood later). My parents bought a brand spanking new, brick exterior, 3 bedroom, 1 3/4 bath, full unfinished basement, covered back porch, eat in kitchen, living room, dining room, 2 car oversized attached garage home on a 1/4 acre lot for $19,600. Adjusted for inflation, that home would sell for about $215K today, when the "starter" home is now closer to $400k, or more. And that home had real wood joists, not engineered wood ones. 9" thick 20 MPa concrete foundation walls, not 17 MPa 7.5", or less ones.

Yeah . . . I think ha has a point here Fred.

My home tax assessment went up by 140% from 2019 to 2026!

Inflation is out of control.

Look what the S&P 500 has been doing since 2001. Savers are looking very smart..unless that bubble bursts.
