in the state of Colorado, money does not make a difference. The Boulder-Denver axis will control the vote. Especially with mail-in voting. Be ready for the Weiser administration.
On top of that put in as Attorney General, Jena Griswold. The democrats see the lower offices as steps.
i.e., State Rep to Att Gen To Governor.
As an aside, Bennet got smacked down in a run for the Governorship but still had his Senate seat to fall back on. Is there anything that he has done in the Senate other than voting lock step with Schumer. Don't forget Hickenlooper, he did not want to be in the Senate but the dems put him forward. What's he done--nothing, but again he votes in lock step with Schumer.
Bennnet and Hickenlooper, being state wide elections will will enlist in the DSA (democrat socialists of America) as soon that it is shown that the DSA machine can produce the necessary votes.
Is there anyone on this thread that does not think that the SAVE Act is to necessary?

And the party money can be deceptive. Many donate directly to candidates.
And many negative campaign ads are funded by Dark money groups.

Let's not forget the effect of the ruling in National Republican Senatorial Committee v. Federal Election Commission either. That allows parties to spend unlimited funds in coordination with candidates moving forward, while individuals and Super PACS are still limited in how much they may contribute.

For me, the negative attack ads funded by the Super PACS, in fact most of the political ads, are ineffective efforts. As a rational being, I already know that they are filled with the third type of lies identified by Twain . . . statistics, misrepresentations, and outright fraudulent utterings that really only appeal to those who are going be be voting for or against the candidate already.

Same thing really applies to the stump speeches on the campaign trail, dressing down to portray someone as a family person (despite divorces, stories of infidelity, etc.), or an outdoors aficionado. It's all Kabuki theater aimed to influence the low information voters participating in the election that is actually quite insulting to anyone with even a modicum of intelligence.

Agree.
Every year they spend trillions trying to get my vote and billions trying to get my donations but very few ad campaigns work with me.

Maybe the one I remember most? The attack ad on President George Bush, "no new taxes".

Got me to vote for Ross Perot.

Politics should be the main target for any new taxes. Make it so all American tax payers win in every election.

I would prefer that lowering taxes should be the main target of politics.

Yes it would be ideal to have the amount of taxes collected to be lowered yet I have little faith in our existing parties. They always need more than what they collect and seldom look at reducing the spending as a fix.
The business of campaigning and being a politician seems to have an endless supply of funds available to spend on 24-7 advertising. That is a huge tax free business that needs to be Taxed. Some reform of the tax exempt statis of NGO's too.

They love to spend what they don't have.
