Is it leagal for the Sheriff's office to park in a private driveway at a stop sign to wait for people to run the stop sign? I am just curious about this.

If they parked in my driveway, I'd ask them to leave.

I know the answer is Yes if they have permission from the homeowner. I have no idea if they can without permission.

no they can't without permission. pcso deputy used to park in some guys driveway and watch a house of a friend. have no idea what they were looking for but the guy got tired of their parking in his driveway and told deputy to move. he would also call my friend and let them know that they were being watched and friend would open the door and moon him. deputy finally found another spot on the road to watch. maybe he liked being mooned?
