Myth Vs. Reality and the dumbing down of America

I have talked to my parent's generation and it was amazing how little they knew of the events going on around them when they were raising their families. It seems like for too many, when they graduate school, they stop learning.

Lets face it- half of Americans are below average thinkers.

Combine this with the current 20-somthings liberal education and mix in the anti-bush hatred that the left has been drilling up for 4 years and you can see how so many bought into the Obama miracle.

People today get their news from hollywood entertainers and liberal spun networks like msnbc and cnn. If they pay attention at all. They are much more consumed with their cell phones - walking around like zombies - they don't even know the world they walk through - too busy with the latest text message.

Here's todays top searches on Yahoo...

1 Facebook
2 YouTube
3 UFC
4 Paula Abdul
5 NFL
6 Emmy Awards 2010
7 Halle Berry
8 Britney Spears
9 Face Transplant
10 iTunes

This is what America is interested in.

I'm happy to see that Americans believe that Obama is a muslim. He may be. I don't know for sure - but here's what I do know for sure- He certainly appears to lean in favor of them. He has made several statements that favor Islam - in the face of a majority of Americans who oppose those positions.

And that is his fault entirely.

He comes out in favor of the ground zero mosque, assigns NASA's head guy the priority of "acknowledging muslim contributions as our highest priority" and celebrating ramadan in the white house. America knows that these are policies that represent a divergance from historic tradition. Americans have seen him bow at the feet of Saudi leaders - and some on here wonder why Americans are feeling the way they do?

Time for a reality check.

I'm happy to see that we think Obama started TARP - well I know he didn't start it - but he's been a CHAMP in continuing & supporting the policy of bailing out the mis-managed, and we noticed that, and it ticked us off, liberal and conservative alike.

The conservative political propaganda machine is just getting up and running - and just as the left made Bush look like lucifer - the conservative propaganda machine's job is to do the same thing to Obama's reputation.

Weather it is true or not.

It's really the easiest job the conservative propaganda machine has ever had - since it is true that Obama policy is Socialist - bent on destroying the market system - punishing those who produce - and "spreading the wealth" to the very laziest.

I can't wait for the political commercials - all they need to do is quote Obama himself! I can't wait for this movie that is coming out this fall about this administration and congress - I think todays America cares more about movies than it does actual politics. Just as America believed that Sara Palin said "I can see russia from my house" - (from saturday night live) - well.....

It's our turn now....stay tuned!

Therein lies part of the problem. In today's America, "our" tends to mean the far left or the far right, and rarely the vast majority in the middle that are fed up with both ends of the spectrum.

Then maybe you can tell me: which side, the left or the right, thinks that professional wrestling is not fake?

If we don't all agree on that, America is doomed.....

I'm going to take a wild guess that it's roughly the same people that still think Obama is a Muslim, and was born in Kenya...

What bothers me the most is how hard you Liberals are trying to emulate your heros, the elite who think they know better than everyone else, how to run our lives, what cars to drive, what the cause of this so-called Global Warming is. Does it make you feel powerful to think you are the smart ones? Make your stupid guesses LJ, and scruffy, it is apparent to everyone what fools you are.

It isn't easy being you, is it? Not just anyone could pull it off, right?

It is apparent that intellectual debate can't possibly survive with your comments thriving like they do. Just because we disagree on political matters doesn't give you the right to attack. Fight back with reason, logic, proof, etc.,if there is any.

Huh? What are you talking about? Intellectual debate? That's not what you want. You want to piss off the left. You even said so earlier today.

But just for sh**s & giggles, tell me, who would you rather have running the country - someone with a college education (one of the so called elite) or somebody that never graduated high school?

For sh**s ( you ) and giggles ( LJ ) i would rather have someone who cares about and works FOR the American people, not themselves. I would look at their accomplishments, not their college degrees. I am sick of the elites and their pompous bullsh**. Anything good enough for the American people should be good enough for them, like health care, like pensions, Social Security, etc. Now have a good laugh. Its okay you think you are one of the elite, so its okay. Idiot!!!
