Judge allows states' healthcare suit to proceed

This is a great start!! :woo hoo: Put Obama and his sham of a healthcare plan on trial and expose it to all of Americans who have not been able to see the truth as to what is in it. Is Colorado one of the 20 states? I think we are.

U.S. states can proceed with their lawsuit seeking to overturn President Barack Obama's landmark healthcare reform law, a Florida judge ruled on Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson had already indicated at a hearing last month that he could not uphold parts of a motion by the Justice Department to dismiss the lawsuit, led by Florida and 19 other states.

Yep... Let's do it... And if it's illegal, let's find out now. Of course, the way it was written, the parts that are illegal could be struck down without invalidating the parts that aren't...But they should get that issue out of the way immediately, and then go forward from there.

Yes... It is... And I hope it stands up to scrutiny... But then, you already knew that.

Unfortunately, this judge is only allowing parts of the complaint filed to progress. I am not aware of all the details of the complaint but, my desire is to have the entire piece of sh**, oops, legislation, get repealed.

The same country that can draft you and send you to South Vietnam can't require you to buy health insurance? I think Obama will win this one. States can require you to buy auto insurance, health insurance isn't that different.

Not true!

Want to avoid car insurance? Don't drive!

It's the same way they get away with taxes, actually. If you were required to pay someone to live and grow, that's this funny thing called "slavery". You can't be the property of someone else, nor can you be forced to provide income to the government.

The solution? Don't work!

Well, you weren't expecting a good solution, were you?

This is, in my memory, the first time there has been no way out of a tax. This is not a tax on a certain activity, it's a tax on living. That is why it is so dangerous, and such a slippery slope.

You don't think the goverment has the right to tax you? You must be very young.
And actually I think requiring medical insurance, even a minimal plan with a high deductible will reduce medical costs by expanding the base to include the low risk youth.
And there is a way to avoid the health care insurance requirement, join the Amish, they are exempt! I wonder if people will be allowed to self-insure themselves if they have the assets.

SS109, that wouldn't fit the socialist agenda.
