"The air will be rent with the cries of the distressed." - why do we no longer we speak so eloquently?

John Adams trying to marry one of his sons to the daughter of King George - oh, the horror! :scared:

Do you think we'll ever evolve?

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Ahhh yes, the good old days. When republican minded men stood fast against the faction in power which believed in an all powerful central government. When a Congress populated by federalists worked hard and long during the lame duck session to ensure that the people who just threw them out on their collective ears would still have to live with the consequences of their actions. Where did those days go I wonder.
