Tea Party Could Put Record Number of Black Conservatives in Office
Despite allegations of racism in Tea Party organizations, the Republican Party, and conservative groups, 2010 has witnessed more black Republican activism than ever before. Thirty-seven African Americans in 16 states have been in contention for seats in the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives this year.

But, but.... I thought the Tea Partiers were racists? I guess not. Maybe the lefty media was just portraying the Tea Party Groups as racist wackos in order to keep the Obama socialist adgenda from falling off the rails.

From your article...

"2010 has witnessed more black Republican activism than ever before."

So how many of the 37 blacks are Tea Party members?

It’s not about how many are members of Tea Party groups, it’s that the Tea Parties are supporting these candidates because of their values. Their color or race does not matter, it’s their values that matter.

The Tea Party is supporting them because they have an "R" by the their name. But how many blacks did the Tea Party actually support in the primary when they ran against someone else with an "R" by their name?

I have no idea if the Tea Party is racist. I'm sure some members are, if they are truly a cross-section of America. There are racists in every party, I'm sure. I'm just questioning your assertion that because the Republicans are finally allowing blacks to be candidates that that somehow becomes the Tea Party is not racist.

I'm just wondering why it took the Republicans so long to get to this point?

"Tea Party Could Put Record Number of Black Conservatives in Office"

Of the 42 black members of the House of Representatives, all 42 are Democrats. So, in that respect, putting 2 or 3 black Republicans in office would be a "record number."

You aren't wondering! You are stirring up the sh**!!! It is too bad the African American population of this country doesn't realize that they have been promised things by the Democratic Party for over a half century, but that is all they got, empty promises. Look at New Orleans
and Katrina. For over 50 years of Democratic rule in Louisiana and a Democratic Mayor, after decades of being told that the Dikes ( different spelling, don't get excited ) would fail, it was so convenient to blame George Bush for FEMA not responding immediately, instead of their leaders who had made empty promises. The Republican Party has done more in my opinion for the African American population of this country ( and also the Hispanic population ) than the Democratic Party has but the Mainstream Media (Drive-By) and someone who will go nameless, have always blamed the GOP.

BTW, our Tea Party Group is not racist Pineguy. DISSENT IS NOT RACISM!!!!

I've blamed both the GOP and Democratic Party (and third party candidates) through the years.

As I've stated several times, I don't vote the party -- I vote the candidate and the platform. I've voted for third-party candidates (and campaigned for them) over the years, as well.

I voted for Bush the first time as I never thought Kerry was the better candidate. This year I voted for Ken Buck and Tom Tancredo for reasons I've already posted.

You always want to put people in boxes, based on your own biases. It really doesn't work. You should view people as you do candidates, with an open mind.

And Grady, if you want a pat on the back for supporting Republican candidates even if they're black, it's not going to come from me. It should be a given, not something you have to boast about.
