And the people that voted for him are even bigger idiots! I don't see how he can ever show his face in Colorado again. There are so many people that dispise this narcissistic man. Kansas doesn't even deserve to have him back. Go away Dan. We don't like you!

this time around i voted for maes and the republican party - glad they got at least 10%

You guys DO realize that if you add the votes for Maes AND Tancredo TOGETHER, they still don't add up to more than Hickenlooper. You can blame Maes for a lot, but in the end did he really "spoil it" for Tancredo?

Just looking at the raw numbers, LJ you are correct, but I think it's more than that. I don’t think Tancredo, was able in the short time frame of his campaign to attract the independent voters, He was known for so long only as an opponent of illegal immigration. There wasn’t time to get people to know Tancredo on the rest of the issues.
I do think we will find some cross voting by repubs, those who couldn’t support Maes but who also couldn’t support a candidate who left the party. Included in this I think we’ll find those who also believe in only a two party system, a system that has no room for any “minor” party. I haven’t looked at the numbers yet but I bet these same people also under voted in the governor’s race.
We as conservatives need to face facts, Colorado is no longer a solid red state.
edit to add: In a sense He spoil it for Tancredo, Tancredo had to spend time and money going after Maes when those resources could have been better spent going after Hickenlooper and getting the word out about Tancredo beyond illegal immigration.
I don't know the numbers, but I'm sure the plan was to first beat down Maes. Tancredo had to poll above Maes early on in order to be considered a viable candidate.
