'Arizona Style' Immigration Law Proposed in Texas

Less than an hour after the period began for filing bills for consideration in the 2011 Legislative session, State Rep. Debbie Riddle (R-Tomball), a leader of the newly muscular conservatives in the Legislature, filed an 'Arizona style' measure that would crack down on illegal immigration, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Riddle says her measure is a response to what she says is the escalating violence caused by Mexican and Latin American gangs in Texas.

Just ask me how I feel about illegals and what they've already done to my family. It makes me sick to think that Colorado is now an open door to even more. I hope those who voted for Hick feel real good about their vote...until something happens to one of their loved ones will they then maybe have second thoughts.

I wonder if they will have more money to implement it than AZ does.....if/when it gets out of the courts AZ still cannot afford the cost of detaining, housing, and deporting more illegals.

A list of people who have been arrested and referred by the city of Denver to Immigration and Customs officials contained 1,853 names for 2009 and 1,793 for 2010 so far.

Yea - and those names are on that list because of the number and the seriousness of their crimes. They are the really, really bad guys. The "average' criminal isn't. They still get away with "petty crimes". Including car accidents that cause injury. Just ask me - I know.

Denver police officers made less than 500 calls to ICE since 2006 out of over 250,000 total arrests, over 15,000 DUI arrests and over 500,000 traffic stops. My son called said he cannot come home for Thanksgiving as the post was put on alert because of the escalation of violence down in El Paso.

You racists have to stop going after these Undocumented Democrats, you are setting a bad example for the poor anchor babies. They will grow up to become criminals because of this stigma!!! It is so unfair to them. OMG!!!!

There is a civil war going on in Mexico and the media can't or will not cover because of retribution by the gangs or the government (both are equally bad). Colonialism and/or Socialism has run out it's course in Mexico.

I heard that Arizona has lifted all gun carrying restrictions (concealed or open) for anyone US citizens over 21. What do they know?

So which is Obama's war, Afghanistan or the coming one on the US/Mexico border? It would appear doing nothing has a cost to it.
