Neither of those require Americans to purchase anything from private party. And you can opt out simply by not earning money in the US. And there is no provision for sanctions or jail time for opting out.

And you won't have to buy health insurance if you move to a third world country.....can we help you pack your bag?

Why don't people like you move to a socialist country where they are already forcing people to pay for it, rather than trying to change this countries system into something that is proven to not work well anywhere else? Why should anyone be able to force me to buy something that I don't want and may never use? What if they start forcing everyone to buy condoms 'in case' they have sex and so it will protect them from diseases and thus save the hospitals from having to treat them Even make nuns buy them even though they probably will neer use them. That is how stupid this is!

So now it is time to trot out the "socialist country" argument. No one is being forced to purchase anything. If you choose not to provide your insurance, and your employer does not provide it, and you do not meet the exemptions based on income, tribal, etc., you can simply pay the very modest tax and forgo the insurance.

I realize that does not support your "outrage" and claims of "socialism" but it is the fact.

You totally supported my argument. Thanks. How are you guys so brainwashed?? SO you are saying that we don't have to pay for insurance, but instead we will only have to pay a tax in exchange for it at the end of the year? So you don't see the correlation here? You people keep trying to say that we are not being forced to pay extra for insurance but yet then we will just be taxed to make up for not paying for it. How is it that Liberals don't see an extra tax or fee in place of buying insurance is exactly the same thing as being forced to pay for something that maybe you don't want or need! All so they have enough money to pay for everyone to have it. Economic dispersion aka..... socialism!

Aren't we already paying for everyone to have insurance through our current premiums? Isn't that rather socialistic - spreading the risk of a few to everyone else?

It's what, a $700 fine? Big whoop- since those who opt out are likely to end up in an ER demanding treatment for free. The $700 fine would go to defray costs. Right now we supply bad universal healthcare at astronomically high costs. Sending people to an ER for throat cultures and fevers is stupid. It's cheaper to deliver medical care through traditional doctors offices. Like it or not (I guess from your attitude you would like it) the majority of Americans aren't willing to subject themselves to a third world spectacle of diseased people dying in the streets.
