Jan Brewer told President Barack Obama that Americans "want our border secured" and called Thursday for completion of a separating fence. Obama underscored his objections that the tough immigration law she signed is discriminatory.

Meeting in the Oval Office, Obama said Arizona's law and similar efforts by more than 20 states would interfere with the federal government's responsibility to set and enforce immigration policy.

Neither side appeared to give ground on the contentious issue although both talked about seeking a bipartisan solution.

Obama urged her to "be his partner" in working toward a comprehensive overhaul of the nation's badly fractured immigration system. Brewer told The Associated Press afterward that she told Obama her state is not ready for the comprehensive solution he favors.

So no one should start a thread. Just let them come naturally. I wonder how that will happen?

VL, I'm not following you here at all, you've started 13 threads in just the Courthouse and Ring alone?

Wayne, totally off topic, but did you also see where Miz Brewer totally lied about how and when her father died in order to garner political sympathy? Kinda makes a person wonder what else she would lie about.

A news story comes out ---> Something magical happens
> There's a thread about it.

Maybe if we all meditate enough about a story, it'll create it's own thread.

I had not seen that. But the bill was not hers anyway. She just signed it.

Here's an OP Ed piece from the lawmaker who wrote the bill with the reasoning behind it:

I did see that and it disgusts me. Still while I do not generally like tit for tat posts, would this even have made a ripple if Richard Blumenthal was not a Stolen Valor perp.
