Just How Screwed Up is this White House?

Isn't that just like the democrats to block this bill that would give out of work Americans (through no fault of their own) the money they so desperately need at a time like this.

It seems odd that the democrats would also hold the middle class american tax breaks hostage like this!

Oh well- if Sen Reed wants to play games with this - maybe it should wait till January.

Nice spin.....are you dizzy yet?

The republicans started this, and thought they could not only hold the middle class tax cuts hostage but also run roughshod over the American people who favor NOT having the tax cuts extended for the wealthy. Good for a few democrats who are standing up to such terrorist tactics.

If it weren't so obvious that the Righties don't give a sh*t about the "middle class", and are holding them hostage to the tax cuts for the millionaires, that would actually be funny.

900 billion cost for this bill? That includes the middle class tax cuts which would have passed by themselves if it hadn't all been bundled together.

Let them just vote on on if they want to bringback the Clinton tax increases on the middle class and poor. And another bill about the alternative minimum tax. That would be another big part of the 900 billion.

Would you like some cheese to go with that whine?

Whining Dems on far left are nearly crazy with criticism of Obama's tax cuts compromise

His compromise would renew middle-class tax cuts. It would extend unemployment benefits for 13 months. And it would include a payroll tax cut, which would arguably help the low-income bracket more than any demographic. In fact, the tax cuts for the rich have been extended for only two years. If the economy recovers, Democrats can try to repeal those cuts. The left hasn't lost this fight yet, but they seem to already see a white flag.

What more do they want?

Whether the left is so obsessed with inciting conflict among the classes, or they are still marinating in the residual anger from midterm losses, they should have swallowed hard and realized that this compromise will assist with the recovery.

Someone PLEASE tell Paul Krugman to stop whining too. Man he REALLY has his panties (thong?) in a wad here. Hostages...hilarious rofllol

Obama's Hostage Deal

Which brings me back to Mr. Obama’s press conference, where — showing much more passion than he seems able to muster against Republicans — he denounced purists on the left, who supposedly refuse to accept compromises in the national interest.

Well, concerns about the tax deal reflect realism, not purism: Mr. Obama is setting up another hostage situation a year down the road. And given that fact, the last thing we need is the kind of self-indulgent behavior he showed by lashing out at progressives who he feels aren’t giving him enough credit.

The point is that by seeming angrier at worried supporters than he is at the hostage-takers, Mr. Obama is already signaling weakness, giving Republicans every reason to believe that they can extract another ransom.

It's the funniest Chinese fire drill ever....compliments of the jackass party.

The Democrats are probably blaming the Republicans on the Jackass symbol. A symbol they deserve.

I'm curious as to who you think 'the Righties' are who don't give a sh*t about the "middle class"? Has it ever crossed your mind that the vast majority of Republicans likely ARE the middle class; if not the lower middle class?

7.8 million Americans have a net worth of $1-million or more. Compare that to the estimated number of 'middle class' Americans--which is anywhere from 84-million to 221-million depending on which model you apply--and you're talking about a comparatively small number of people who have achieved 'millionaire' status.

And Republicans are outnumbered by democrats (55-million to 72-million). Think about that. Especially in light of the results of the recent midterm elections.
