Once again FoxNews shows it marches in lock-step with the GOP? Fair and balanced? Not hardly. I've lost count of how many times Fox has been caught pushing the right wing agenda.
Fox News: Avoid 'public option' in health care debate
By JENNIFER EPSTEIN | 12/9/10 10:33 AM EST
Fox News executives told the network's journalists to avoid referring to the "public option" when discussing Democrats' proposals for a government-run health insurance plan, according to internal e-mails released Thursday.
"[F]riendly reminder: let's not slip back into calling it the 'public option,'" said Bill Sammon, vice president and Washington managing editor, in an October 2009 message to the staffs of Fox News Sunday, "Special Report" and FoxNews.com.
Instead, Sammon offered several other ways to discuss the idea: "government-run health insurance," "government option," "the public option, which is the government-run plan" and "the so-called public option."
Twenty minutes after Sammon sent his note, Michael Clemente, the network's senior vice president for news, said that "No. 3 on your list is the preferred way to say it, write it, use it.”
1) The Communistic "mandated" option.
2) The Socialist option, you pay for yours and mine too.
3) The Government run (into the ground) option.
They chose the least truthful name and you call it spin.
Not spin, just choosing the correct terms, like homicide bomber instead of suicide bombers or illegal aliens instead of undocumented workers, sprawl versus new homes for a growing population.
A big part of the debate is the terms used, ending the Bush tax cuts, or bringing back the Clinton tax increase, you can call it either one.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Exactly. There is no spin there except for the far left that likes the use of misleading terms such as public opion. I am glad at least one station isn't afraid to stop calling it by the misleading left leaning talking point term. Too bad the other media outlets continue to spin and use that term. Americans aren't stupid and like a news outlet that actually calls it what it is.
