The New "No Labels" Group?

Heard about this group? Supposed to be a grass roots group of moderates that is trying to take the political debate from the intolerant radicals on both sides like the TEA Party.

Sounds to me like a revamp of that coffee from earlier this year which quickly faded away.

Do you think the moderate middle is shrinking away and more people moving to the edges?

It sure looks like it here on this forum, but that could be just because the radicals are more interested in politics year around.

It's a joke... It's conservative Democrats and the Eisenhower Republicans trying to find cover. But it's obvious that the moderate middle is almost non-existent, and with all of the money pouring into both sides of the extremes it's only going to get worse. The only way to STOP this madness is to have publicly financed elections, and prohibit outside money... It's not going to happen--but that's what it would take.

Public finance of elections? Would you still allow people to make small time donations of a couple hundred dollars? How about their time? Would people still be allowed to volunteer to support their candidate? How about a private charity, could they use their volunteers to assist in a mailing for a guy they like? How about a small business?

Radical moderates? It does seem like they are quite intolerant of the far right and to a lesser extent, the far left.

There are a few countries who do have a middle party, like the UK, the Labour party is the moderate with the Liberal Democrats to the Left and the Conservatives to the Right, but this has only come about with time, Labour used to be way to the Left, nationalizing industries in the 70's, only the triangulation of Blair & Gordon moved it back to the center.
