But only go on off days, those lines seem to stretch to 285! But good for them to be so popular.

Several years ago when the Coney Island was in Conifer a couple of onery boys (whose names I will not mention but they were tall blonde and attended CHS), put a plaster deer yard ornament on the top of the Coney Island. It was up there for at least a year. Later a friend gave me a Coney Island postcard and sure enough, there was that deer, still perched up on the hot dog!

Thanks for posting the story LJ. It brought back some fun memories.

That was the first thing I saw when I entered Conifer to look for houses back in 1990... The real estate agent told me to "drive up Hwy285, when you find the 'hot dog stand that looks like a hot dog', our office is right across the street." Many memories there.

I remember running into the famous movie-actor, Yaphet Koto, in there one day, and I spoke to him and he said he had a summer place up near here, and he came into town from time to time. I have no idea where it was, but obviously, he was enough of a "local" to know about the Coney.

Plan for a Friday then, because they are only open Fri, Sat and Sunday for the winter.
