You guys post so much here that is just so ill-informed.
Yes, the war in Iraq was for oil, but not so that our gas prices would be lower. Most of the oil from that region goes to China anyway. The war was to secure the oil fields for profits by big oil companies (Saddam was trying to socialize the profits kind of like Alaska does.) So we have been fighting a war for profit and supply of oil to China.
On another note, I have been surprised at how our gas prices here in Colorado have remained relatively low in comparison to other parts of the country.
