"The more disturbing news is a threat that has been made by the tribes if Mubarak does not step down. According to one report coming from Time Magazine, they are willing to attack the Suez Canal if Mubarak does not leave. The Suez Canal currently is where a third of the world’s oil and six percent of all products passes through. A seizure of the Canal could spike oil prices beyond the current $90 level, perhaps over $110. This could come to pass despite the fact that Egypt is not a major oil producer."

Someone once said, the longer you remain in power, the more enemies you make. Since Hosni Mubarak has been in control over 30 years when he promised to serve only one term, I would imagine there are many who would like their own shot at leadership. And since Mubarak's plan to have his son succeed him next in line was exposed, even more people are angry.

And if they attack the free trade through the Suez, then those who are the belligerents in the attacks should expect that the nations seeking only the continuation of their trade to respond with military efforts aimed at stopping the attacks upon the ships of their nation.
