Jeffco boy facing felony charges in airsoft gun mishap

Hey, maybe that will be how the Libs get rid of gun ownership. All they have to do is engage in frivolous and malicious felony prosecutions. Then, no one would be eligible to own a gun. EXCEPT, the law abiding criminals.

Since none of the parents filed charges, the DA needs to answer the reason for the charges/investigation, and tactics. Not to mention the taxpayer bill. But look at it this way, the media guys, and the DA's, milking this one will get another paycheck.

Sorry kid, you are going down.

Not only did my brothers and I shoot at each other with BB guns, we also threw firecrackers at each other when the 4th of July came around.

Here's another one..."Now kids don't try this at home." "My brothers and I were professional troublemakers so, I'm pretty sure we knew what we were doing". Particularly, when we took apart dad's hacksaws, turned their handles upside-down and placed bottle rockets into the channeled saw frame, making it possible to more accurately aim them at each other.

Now that was fun! And nobody got hurt...not too badly, anyway! Once in awhile, one of my ears would ring for an hour or so, after a bottle rocket or a firecracker exploded within a few inches of my head. That's all! :can't hear

If that happened to me, no one got arrested, I would just try to aim more carefully next time, so I could make one of my brothers' ears ring too. :woo hoo:

Maybe we should all get on the Boo-Hoo Train and take a little trip to Mamby-Pamby Land where we can all cry rivers of tears for each other!

Hey JeffCo DA...go prosecute real criminals...not little kids.

Not only did we "play" with BB guns (though if my dad caught us shooting them at someone, he bent the gun in half and threw it a country mile); we also poured unknown chemicals on the dirt roads in town and lit them on fire...we blew up GI Joes with firecrackers...we used power tools to build things...we used power tools to tear things apart... We were kids. We had dirt clod fights...and if someone was injured, our parents punished us.

We learned from our mistakes so we could be better adults.

This is frickin ridiculous, and the DA needs to be told so. Clearly the kid already made restitution all on his own - IE the xbox.

If parents are satisfied on both sides, the kids are satisified, why is the DA even involved?

"Could have have cause serious damage". great - most things "could" cause serious damage. Time to move on to something more serious.

Thank you, Local_H,

So you too, see the "stupidity" of a County Government persuing a 13-year old boy, for a Felony Conviction.

We discussed this at a family dinner tonight - dad thinks its purely a political statement on the DA's part, so he can say during relection time that he's tough on crime.

But we all agree the DA sits on his thumbs over real, serious crimes he should be hard on, not messing with some kid.

Thank you, Local H.

It is interesting that you are the only one who sees how ludicrous this entire affair has become.

When will our government get out of our lives and leave us alone to decide, if we should play with fire or not. Try me, if you find legal precedence. Try me, if I break the law, otherwise, leave me the hell, alone!

This is a 13-year old boy, for God's sake. JeffCo needs to relax a little. They need to take their medications as prescribed, so they can chill! To: Those in office in Jefferson County. If your Psychiatrist calls, answer, so you may retain the prescription which has been apparently and necessarily prescribed for your unhealthy condition.
