As someone, a conservative I believe, pointed out in another thread, I'll bet they are better off being poor than being dead.

nope, it didn't stop turning, those people just fell ill and died, how convenient.

They didn't just fall ill and die- there were numerous ways that society helped people who really needed the help - and you know it. Did some of them die?- perhaps....

Some of them are still dying today- even with all the social programs. This is the cry of the truely immoral - the socialist- tugging at the heartstrings of Americans with their sobbing story about begging children and dying old ladies.

Ayn Rand has it right- you will doom us all with your welfare state.

Tell me, how did Ayn Rand deal with those that weren't able to fend for themselves? Do you know if she had a solution?

Annie was a whack job. A mediocre writer with very limited intellectual skills. Do some research folks.

I don't think she put a solution out there did she?

And as I said- she didn't have to. It's not her job to address every problem the world has- only to offer the best philosophy for everyone as a whole. Stealing the wealth of hard working Americans to provide for the lazy is the worst way.

And archer would have us believe that everyone not capable dies in the streets- cold hungry and ill. It didn't happen that way - society and individuals found a way to help long before the government was expected to handle the problem.

No, she didn't, which is why I have trouble with people that think her philosophy is a model for the way things should be.

And dummy- you are not qualified to judge Ayn's intellectual skills. I might even agree that she was not the most talented writer- but she did pretty well considering that English was not her native language.

Nothing's stoppin all you bleeding hearts from solving the worlds problems! I just wish you would stop using the force of government to steal what I earn to do it.

So get busy- I am not in a position to solve every problem - I'm busy trying to solve my own problems, which would be easier if people like you were not stealing half of my labor.

That "perhaps" says it all.....we all can see how much you care.

Some of them are still dying today- even with all the social programs. This is the cry of the truely immoral - the socialist- tugging at the heartstrings of Americans with their sobbing story about begging children and dying old ladies.

Ahhhh....if some are still dying, then of course you don't care if more die......is that yuour idea of morality?
The really nice thing about America, many Americans actually have heartstrings, they make up for the ones who do not.

Ayn Rand has it right- you will doom us all with your welfare state.

Hmmmmm.....I guess the abortion issue goes by the wayside when it comes to your money......you are conveniently ignoring the part of Ayn Rands philosophy that promotes atheism and freedom of choice. Just like a conservative to pick and choose when it suits them, probably a result of too much :Koolaid:

Ayn Rands philosophy on abortion was the same as mine- government should not be involved in the issue.

That's something we can both agree on.
