Have never heard this before. Elephants sense of smell is 14X that of a dog. Never understood why Americans pay lots of money to kill them. They taste terrible.(really)
More likely, it's an example of people aren't sure if this is one of the rare gems that you post, or your usual crap and don't want to take almost 11 minutes finding out. What elephants have to do with Republicans' intelligence, I have no idea, but it was a neat bit of info regardless. While elephants may have a better sense of smell than dogs, using them to find cancer in people is only going to really be cost effective in Africa, although they will be handy finding poachers and land mines. Research into their long-term memory processes is a great untapped potential, and possibly a financial windfall for anyone who could isolate specific differences that are amenable to drug therapy in humans.
Thanks for the video.

Republicans use the elephant as their mascot, symbol but don't live up to the intelligence of the elephant. The same can be said of the dems. They don't come close to the smarts of a jackass.
It still bothers me that wealthy people want to kill elephants just for the hell of it. It isn't hunting. It's hand holding. Elephants are far more intelligent than the likes of sea going mammals and apes.
More intelligent? I doubt that; equal maybe, but not more so. It's impossible to measure IQ in animals, but elephants have been show to be self-aware, the same as dolphins, some apes, and possibly some birds. They sure haven't accomplished what humans have, as a whole, but you won't hear me argue that there aren't elephants smarter than some humans, I just understand that intelligence doesn't fall on partisan lines like you would like to think it does.
