An L.A. County employee apparently died while working in her cubicle on Friday, but no one noticed for quite some time.

51-year-old Rebecca Wells was found by a security guard on Saturday afternoon.

She was slumped over on her desk in the L.A. County Department of Internal Services.

"I came in Saturday to do a little work, and I saw them when they were taking her out," co-worker Hattie Robertson told KTLA.

50 cents says the union will insist she is paid thru the end of the month. Or at least until her dues are paid up.

What a sad way to go, in a cubicle at work. Putting out some positive thought for her family and friends...

This begs the question: How can you tell if a government employee is dead?

Would they poke her with a stick? Most probably the amount of work done in a day could not be used as a measure.
I am wondering how they know that she was dead for only one day.

That is a terrible way to die--not even having fun or being around friends/family. I'd hate to be found by co-workers, especially the ones I had to work with when I inhabited a cube for the gov't. 'Course, the feeling was mutual. They would have thrown a party, using my corpse as a centerpiece--and it would probably have taken a week to notice me there.

It being a weekend, I think their finding her so fast was pretty good. She was probably working late. I do hope it was fast and painless for her.

Everyone making fun of this poor womans death disgust me. Read the article, look at her face, find out that she just became a grandma. Treat her like a human. What a bunch of pigs you all are.
