How quickly they forget

I didn't say it was you outdoor....I thought it was nmysys, and I was right

at which point I simply called him an ass because I couldn't "get out" as he stated

nmysys wrote: I have been called worse than an ass by much better people than you will ever be Archer. I don't mean to be callous, but sympathy for my enemies has long eluded me.

yeah, I thought is was poor taste, my apologies to others if they took my criticism of nmysys personally....but it really is difficult to distinguish your posts from one another.....when one posts, the rest have a tendency to pile on.

It's not bitterness outdoor....trying to point out to you and your cohorts that often a personal attack ends up more than just a throw away remark....it can cut deep, and hurt. I am so sorry you are uncomfortable with my medical past....but it is part of who I am now. I will try to be more sensitive to yours and nmysys and other conservatives feelings and not mention that part of my life, I have seen it with others, they just don't want to know.

I'm the enemy, who knew?

sorry archer, your reaching..you are imaging that nymsys is calling you out because of your chemo..don't see that at all in his post to you.. he is questioning you about being retired and that he is more active then you are...that's all I can see...again your reaching with the enemies remark...nmysys, would call you out personally..he hides nothing and lets people know his feelings! He is stating a blanket statement about all liberals. You're the only one who has responded to the enemies remark..me thinks you're a little touchy..lighten up..its Sunday!

I'm not uncomfortable with your medical past whatsoever, God bless you for what you have been through! I lost my sister to cancer last year in her 40's, she was a fighter, never made excuses and dealt with it head on. Never heard her once pull the cancer card to get people to feel sorry for her. You have stated in the past that people have attacked you for your chemo..I only only know of one person that did this. I confronted them on your behalf..I sent PM's, etc.

If you feel the need to share updates, by all means, please do so..I would suggest, just don't add your attacks against those who don't agree with your politics when doing so. JMHO

You just don't get it.....do you. My complaint was not at all what you are trying to depict it as.....my complaint, and I have made it many times, is that many of you conservatives are quick to attack the poster, quick to make snide little remarks that are personal attacks, not attacks on the post or the opinions but on the poster her/him self. Just as was done to TM earlier. You all do this, then when you find out it hit a sensitive spot....it's uh oh....ok sorry. I actually have more respect for nmysys who tells it like it is, he aint sorry about nutin he says to the enemy, even if it is insensitive.

Words have consequences, even on a message board.....and on this one no one seems to care. There have been some very ugly confrontations here, I guess in some small way I hoped if people saw what they were doing without thinking, they might think about it next time. Silly me....looking for some good in all of you. I really try to direct my criticism at the post.....not the poster. I don't always accomplish that, but I do think I am never, or very rarely, the poster that takes it into personal attacks first.

We can be crude, we can be funny, we can be snide or silly, we can hate and push peoples buttons but lets keep it about POSTS.....not about posters, that just leads to this kind of confrontation which serves no practical purpose.

And now I am done with this subject........this is probably the twentieth time I have tried to appeal to posters here to keep it about the issues when you slam someone and not about the poster.....it isn't ever going to change, i see that now, so i promise I will leave it alone and let you all have at it.

Thank you , great question. I'll ask and respond.

I have some friends here locally that went through a similar process, it's not cheap and it is time consuming. I think somewhere in the range of $5,000. to $10,000 maybe a little less, and maybe 3 years for the process. After you are dealing with a federal government bureaucracy. I think a lot depends on the amount of documentation the potential citizen is able to provide. In both of these cases the persons were able to reside in and work in the USA during the process.

Outdoor:

I have said it before and I will say it again my friend. I don't need others to apologize or defend me. Thank you for being my friend and trying, but I will defend myself.

Archer:

Let me go over this again to make it clear. You posted a quote from me.

Retired but much more active than you are from what I can tell, because I at least have a life besides this computer. I don't need excuses Archer, that is a Liberal thing.

Since I have never read anywhere about your inability to get out, that I know of, those words were meant to say exactly what they said. I have many things going on in my life. For instance from early this morning until just a short while ago, I have been working the VFW breakfast in Conifer. I am involved in the 285 Corridor Tea Party Group. I am one of two who are attempting to stop Park County from building a 2.4 Million Dollar Communications Center without the consent of the taxpayers, I attend Community activities of all kinds, like last week's Conifer Town Hall meeting, and along with an associate am trying to get another site going. I have a life besides sitting here at the computer watching and reading posts. Yes, I am retired and I keep myself busy. All I meant was exactly what I said. I have a life besides this forum, apparently you don't. It made no reference to your health or as I now see that you are saying, your inability to do anything else. I am NOT without Compassion for people, as anyone who actually KNOWS me would tell you.

At the same time, I consider that there are some people who have chosen to be my enemy. Not just because they fall on the opposing side of a Political argument. Notice if you will that most times I respond to PhotoFish, I refer to him as my friend. He happens to be a Social Liberal and a Fiscal Conservative, in his own words. Notice also that Science Chick is a good friend.
She actually attended our 285 Corridor Tea Party Group meeting last Thursday evening. There are others who have chosen to directly be my enemy. There is VL and LJ, yourself and TM. Tower Monkey has been on the attack all week and now says he has been having steroids for a problem of some kind, and makes comments that we haven't responded to his situation. I am always sorry to hear that anybody is suffering for any reason, but I will not be guilty of something that I have not done, said or meant. I do not sit here in front of my computer looking at every new post by him or you or anyone else. If you are going to attack me constantly and read things into what I say or write, then you are declaring yourself as my enemy, rather than as my friend. Debate can be civil, but it also can be uncivil. You can't have it both ways. When I go on a rant because of my Diabetic Sugar Level being low, you have seen me come back and apologize. What I have never seen from you or VL or LJ or Tower Monkey, is an apology for anything.

I am who I am. If you don't like it, that's tough, your loss.
I was unaware that you were unable to get out, therefore I meant nothing other than that I seem to have other things besides this Forum. Take it or leave it.
