Obama’s Promised March With Union Workers Fails to Materialize

When candidate Obama was campaigning in South Carolina in 2007, he said he was proud to wear the “union label” and that if workers were denied rights to organize or collectively bargain when he was elected, “I'll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself, I'll will walk on that picket line with you as president of the United States of America.”

But as the protests over collective bargaining rights drag out in Wisconsin, President Obama has yet to join the demonstrators outside the Capitol building in Madison, and it appears his administration is trying not to get involved in the fight.

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett says what’s happening in Wisconsin is not a national fight. “Let’s not turn what’s really a Wisconsin issue into a Washington issue,” Jarrett told Fox News in an interview Tuesday.

Aren't you the same poster who wants the Federal Government to stay out of state issues? I assume you are applauding Obama for not going to Wisconsin to march.

As I am not a tea bagger or tea partier, have no desire to be, a couple of things you stated are wrong. The biggest one is about defense, but you seem to think it is all about defense. Seeing how DOD keeps giving Congress budget cuts for the DOD, and Congress says no, (it might have an impact on one of their districts). DOD can cut money without effecting the troops, there are even some contracts that can be cut to. Gates has tried, but those in Congress have refused. The President,(I don't care for him either) doesn't have a major impact on this. He does not deal with the defense contractors either. Gates has even tried to cut some of them and the contractors cried to their congressperson and they were reinstated. So the blame for alot of this goes to Congress.

Hey VL:

Sorry to point this out to you and disappoint you but I didn't run the Tancredo Meeting. I know how disappointed that makes you feel, but it was run by another gentleman who I will not name, who was responsible for bringing Tom Tancredo as our speaker.

Poor VL. You thought you knew me, you deranged idiot!!!!

For once though I actually agree with you on something. We have been saying that Obama has been a complete failure as a leader, bent on totally destroying this country, you choose to call him a SELLOUT!!! Good choice of words for once JERKOFF!!!!

Well maybe there is hope for Obama being a one term president. If the looney fringe lefties like VL are upset with him, who is left other than the mindless sheep that vote based on his skin color or his great speeches?

There is a difference between a march, a protest and a picket line. The article seems to blur them into one.

The campaign promise was to walk a picket line.

Very observant Kresspin, but did you read the whole article? The reason that we put the links to stories that we post is in hopes people will read the whole article. Here I will post it again so you don't have to go all the way back to the OP.

You are a condescending asshole.

Yes, I read the whole article and I think most people know why links are put in articles.

Back on topic, are you for the president of the United States getting involved in a state issue? I believe in States Rights. The president should keep his nose out of state affairs (that includes Arizona).
