COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The owner of a bull mastiff killed on a walk Tuesday has been issued a summons for owning a dangerous dog. The bull mastiff, Flato, was shot by the owner of a greyhound.
The greyhound owner, Robert McCombs, told police he was walking his dog, Cooper, on El Camino Drive at sunset when he saw another dog being walked by its owner. McCombs said that dog, Flato, broke away from its owner and attacked Cooper.
McCombs said the two dogs fought before Flato fastened on Cooper's neck
After trying to drag the bull mastiff off Cooper, McCombs said he kicked him before pulling out a gun and shooting him twice.
