The Denver Tea Party has snagged two unlikely members to serve on its advisory board: former chairmen of the Colorado Republican and Democratic parties.
From 1997 to 1999, Phil Perington served as the Colorado Democratic Party chairman. Steve Curtis oversaw the Colorado Republican Party.
These days, the two are unaffiliated voters. They said they agreed to serve on the advisory board for the Denver Tea Party Patriots because they believe in the Tea Party's message of "financial accountability, constitutional responsibility and free markets."
"We're showing them the ropes," Perington said. "Most of these people have never been involved in politics before, and we've advised them to keep on message and not get distracted."
The Denver Tea Party plans to issue a mid-term report card for legislators and send a questionnaire to Denver mayoral candidates, he said.
Good, I hope more Dems and ex-Dems get involved with the Tea Party. Being fiscally responsible should be our #1 goal if we want to preserve what is left of our great country and Republicans certainly don't have a good history of that either.
Professional politicians are joining in order to lessen the purpose and effect of the Tea Party. Kill it from within and bring it into line with the major parties.

Their voting records will prevent them from acting like something they are not....the people are FINALLY starting to wake up.
