Local churches do so much locally and with smaller organizations without publicity, that a person would be hard pressed to "find" their works on the Internet. People like Zuckerman do not have a clue.
I do not believe Jesus would "hate" anyone or any one group. I've pasted some quotes from the bible, and the last link is where I got them from:
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Luk 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
Luk 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and [to] the evil.

The bible refers to the sin of homosexuality as it does the sin of beastiality. It is the deed that is the sin. Just like murder, rape, stealing etc...

The bible also refers to the sin of cutting your hair:
Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard." (Leviticus 19:27)
or wearing polyblend materials:
...do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear material woven of two kinds of material." (Leviticus 19:19)
as well as the sin of eating shellfish:
"But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:10)
"They (shellfish) shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination." (Leviticus 11:11)
"Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales; that shall be an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:12)
"Remember to always be yourself. Unless you can be batman. Then always be batman." Unknown
Evangelicals don't exactly hate Jesus -- as we've provocatively asserted in the title of this piece. They do love him dearly. But not because of what he tried to teach humanity. Rather, Evangelicals love Jesus for what he does for them. Through his magical grace, and by shedding his precious blood, Jesus saves Evangelicals from everlasting torture in hell, and guarantees them a premium, luxury villa in heaven. For this, and this only, they love him.
Yep, that about sums up the religious views of about 80-90% of evangelic Christians I am familiar with. They are simply ecstatic at having this "personal Savior" who goes to bat for them on everything from making sure politicians who will keep their taxes low get into office to sending them the goodies via "Prosperity Theology" to a guaranteed ticket to heaven itself. The giving of such Christians too often is in the direct expectation of return, a sort of cosmic Ponzi scheme where tithing brings magical financial blessings to the tither.
As far as caring much about what Jesus actually had to say about social issues? Not so much.
There are huge exceptions, as there are to every rule. But frankly, I think the author has neatly nailed much of what the American Evangelical movement is all about.
something, we are under the new law, not the old!
Matthew 6:25 ESV “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
