Colorado Unemployment Rate Goes Above The National Average

I am a little troubled by this and hope it will wind up being just a historical blip.
Traditionally Colorado has weathered recessions better than Rust Belt states. But due to the housing meltdown, a lot of traditionally strong states like California and Florida also have worse unemployment.

I'd like to see if there are more people moving here from states that are bankrupt like California. I know a couple from Florida who moved here because the job market was better but have still not found a job for almost a year now.

Massive foreclosures, 50% homes under water, low food banks, bars full of unemployed low skill workers, schools under closure review, Park county depopulating (and suicide rates up), families in King Super parking lot begging for work.........yes indeed the Depression is here in Conifer.........many are in denial.

Are there solutions ?? BTW this is not a routine cycle
we passed $20 TRILLION to the banksters.

I guess somebody listens to Thom Hartman.

People are becoming optimistic and getting back into the job market is why the unemployment rate jumped.

Expect more unemployment in Colorado....especially when Jeffco starts to finally lay off 200 staff and close schools....finally....don't feel bad for the 3% cut in pay...they got a 3% reduction in work days too.

Jeffco should have made these cuts a year ago...but like all tax funded entities...they will run the well dry until they make the tough cuts.
