Newt-passion spreads...

Sometimes, even in the darkest days, everything comes together in the perfect storm of glorious, glitter filled, sequined magnificent Republican hubris .

WI Repub lives outside district with mistress, says wife

Protesters who marched at the home of Wisconsin state senator Randy Hopper (R-Fond du Lac) were met with something of a surprise on Saturday. Mrs. Hopper appeared at the door and informed them that Sen. Hopper was no longer in residence at this address, but now lives in Madison, WI with his 25-year-old mistress.

Blogging Blue reports that the conservative Republican's much-younger [floozy] is currently employed as a lobbyist for right-wing advocacy group Persuasion Partners, Inc. , [a Koch Brothers front organization], but was previously a state senate staffer who worked on the Senate Economic Development Committee alongside Mr. Hopper. Her bio has been scrubbed from the Persuasion Partners' website, but a screen-grab is available here .

Sen. Hopper has worked closely with Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to implement the state's new anti-labor laws and enact policies favorable to the interests of big business. Like Walker, Hopper is one of the Republican politicians named in a massive recall effort spearheaded by Wisconsin Democrats.

Blogging Blue also reports that Mrs. Hopper intends to sign the recall petition against her husband. The petition has already been signed by the family's maid.

However, it is perfectly understandable. If you go to his website , you will find this statement:

A passion for public service led State Senator Randy Hopper to make his first bid for public office in the fall of 2008.

“He caught a bad case of that Newt-passion,” Juanita explains.

That’ll do it every time.

rofllol  rofllol

Hopefully he quietly resigns.

Reminds me of the epsiode of South Park about the connection between politicians and sex dalliances. They do it because they can!

Another very slow news day? Nothing else to talk about I guess :Snooze

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Find a new catch phrase, use it till it's worn out, find a new one, then repeat. Any new ones today LJ or is that one still pretty fresh? :gleeful:

I'm sure the Huffington Post or Racheal Maddow has a few more good ones you can use. (oh ya, try the View too)

First of all Dippy, I was referring to LJ's post not yours.
Secondly, you should probably be schooled about what spin is. You see, in the context of a political discussion, to "spin" is to provide a favorable or negative slant to a particular topic....kinda like kicking a ball with a left handed spin so it goes in the direction you desire. Got it?

My quote was nothing more than an observation of LJ's tendency to reuse the same catch phrases ad nauseam. I just find it amusing, but if you think there is some kind of "spin" in there, you are welcome to your interpretation

Must be a slow news day for the neo-cons. :Snooze

Personally, I find the incessant bed-hopping and inability to live the sanctity-of-marriage bullsh*t message that the family-values party is so fond of trying to legislate on everyone else to be incredibly amusing... (and hardly surprising...)
