Where are the anti-war people now?

I keep thinking I'll see someone on MSNBC or here who is a staunch supporter of Obama asking the question "why did Obama not seek congressional approval before pulling us into another war?" There was outrage on the left when Bush DID get approval in both Afghanistan and Iraq but now that the Holy One gives the ok to bomb the piss out of Libya we have an unusual silence form the left. I did hear Dennis Kusinich on Fox saying Obama's move was unconstitutional but I doubt many on the left will pay much attention to him.

So come on folks, explain why going to war to remove this dictator without congressional approval is better than going to war with Saddam with congressional approval. Is this the change you voted for?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I have heard more than a few (D) congressman upset with Obama's decision to get involved in another war. Especially without going through Congress.

And I still see the anti-war protestors every month at Wadsworth north of I-70.

Personally, I am appalled. And I am more 'left' than 'right'. I agree that it is not the change I voted for. What is it that happens? They get elected and then have zero say in anything or does the machine take over and they realize they have no say or what? Seems so many things that Obama promised he stood for has just gone by the wayside. Why is this? I am not happy and I have no answers for your questions since they are my own questions too. Maybe someone else can respond better than I'm able.

One of the top stories on Google News:

http://www.npr.org/2011/03/21/134730963 ... t-congress

<snip>The circumstance is made easier by the fact that the bombing of Libya by U.S. and allied planes has been carried out under the auspices of the United Nations. And with his words and his initial reluctance with regard to taking military action, President Obama has seemed to avoid many of the excesses of his predecessors.

Yet, now the headline on CNN reads "Libya War."

This war, like so many before it, has neither been debated nor declared by the Congress of the United States.

The penchant of presidents of embark upon military adventures without consulting Congress is now so pronounced that it is barely noted anymore that the Constitution says "Congress shall have power to... declare War."

Unless the United States is immediately threatened, presidents aren't supposed to declare wars or launch them on their own.

Of all the checks and balances outlined in the constitution, none is more significant than the power to declare war.
Yet, since World War II, presidents have launched attacks, interventions and wars without declarations. And that has happened again.<snip>

Obama just lost 2012.

Where are the anti-war people now?

Right here. I have said it was a bad idea all along. This is a civil war and we should not be involved. Now we are launching cruise missles ito some country's capital city? That does not look good.

OP.
Looks like both the Left & the Right don't support getting involved in the Libyan Civil War. Yemen has just gone into civil war with oppposing tank units fighting. Do we start throwin 1/2 million dollar cruise missiles there too? I am sure the defense contractors are already taking orders to replace them.
