Perhaps you haven't heard moral outrage yet is because few people have even heard about this yet? This is the first I've heard of it.

And yes it is outrageous. Especially if the dead are noncombatent civilians killed by US soldiers. But I don't know the facts yet.

So what is the position of conservatives on this? You guys didn't seem to think water boarding or Abu Ghraib were that big a deal. Do you think this is no big deal as well?

Like I said, the article posted was from today. The photos posted by Spiegel were from yesterday. Were they posted somewhere else earlier?

I expressed my opinion about it (initial outrage). But as I said, that opinion can change since we don't know all the facts yet.

And I was about to post regarding Libya elsewhere, but guess I'll post it here. My opinion is that Obama should of gotten permission from Congress before bombing Libya. But so far as I know, Reagan didn't get permission either when he bombed Libya, not that it makes it right. I don't recall Clinton getting permission when he bombed Iraq either.

Only five wars have been started in US history with a formal declaration of war by Congress (the last one was WWII). If you take a strict interpretaion of the Constitution, it seems you should have a formal declaration of war.

Other wars, such as Iraq and Afganistan, got "approval" by Congress, but no formal declaration.

On at least 125 occasions, the President has acted without prior express military authorization from Congress.[12] These include instances in which the United States fought in Korea in 1950, the Philippine-American War from 1898–1903, and in Nicaragua in 1927.

I think it's clear there is too much latitude about what's required to wage war. This needs to be settled by the Supreme Court, IMO.
