Right now ambulance companies are mostly private with a few execeptions, mainly Denver. Do you think Americans would accept communities replacing their unionized expensive fire departments with a corporate one?
I think it is only a matter of time. Like RTD, I could see it starting with outlying districts but I would imagine strong union areas would keep the current system.
Last year during the fires, private corporate firefighters got some attention so I am just waiting to see how soon corporations try to win firefighting bids from municipalities.
