Lautenberg: Pro-Life People “Don’t Deserve Freedoms in Constitution”

New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg is coming under fire from pro-life advocates for comments he made at a recent rally Planned Parenthood staged to save taxpayer funding for its abortion business.
Lautenberg appeared with about 100 supporters who wore pink shirts and stood in front of a pink-colored bus Planned Parenthood has been driving around the country in order to build up support for receiving tens of millions in taxpayer dollars to support what is the biggest abortion business in the country.
“Planned Parenthood is under attack by Tea Party Republicans who have put their extremist ideology above women’s health,” Lautenberg said while pro-life advocates who counterprotested shouted, “Shame on you, Lautenberg.”
The pro-abortion New Jersey senator fired back: “These people (referring to the pro-life advocates) don’t deserve the freedoms in the Constitution.”
well, he does have a point....why should those fighting to deny LEGAL rights to some citizens enjoy the rights of the constitution? Whatever one thinks of abortion, right now it is a LEGAL right in this country, and until that FACT is changed, trying to stop women from access to abortion is denying them their rights. People don't get to do that just because they disagree. Same as people who don't like gun rights don't get to deny other citizens their right to own and use a firearm.
I was greeted by a cute young lady standing outside of REI Downtown yesterday. She wanted to know if I wanted to join Planned Parenthood. I asked her a simple question, where would you be if you're mom or dad had signed up for Planned Parenthood.
Needless to say, she was unprepared for that .....
Oh yeah, I saw Senator Bennett walking around in REI....wow, does he have mouses looking eyes.

Other than those first 6 words, you have made a valid point, IMO, and that is a rarity. Do those 6 words mean that you agree with the statement, that those who are Pro-Life Don't deserve the Freedoms?
no it does not......If I were he I would have phrased it differently, that those who would try to deny the right to an abortion for women in this country do not deserve the freedoms of the constitution. It is everyone's right to think differently, it is also anyone's right to work for change to the laws. I disagree with removing the funding to Planned Parenthood because it performs abortion or counsels women on abortions......whether or not they deserve federal funding is a totally different question......removing it based on their performing abortions is wrong because abortions are a legal option to women.....like it or not.
So yeah, I'm hedging a little.....I took his intent to be that the pro-lifers who try to deny women abortions are wrong, but I do not think all pro-lifers do that. Many are trying to change the system.....I don't agree with them, but I can't fault them for their actions in that regard, only for any actions that specifically try to stop women from getting abortions, or in this case trying to defund an organization that does a lot of good in the community because they also perform abortions.

Slogans for Planned Parenthood.
