Protests Turn Violent in London Over Budget Cuts

LONDON -- A quarter-million mostly peaceful demonstrators marched through central London on Saturday against the toughest cuts to public spending since World War II, with a small breakaway group smashing its way into a bank, breaking windows and spray painting logos on the walls.
Another group of black-clad protesters hurled paint bombs and ammonia-filled light bulbs at police.
Organizers of the March for the Alternative said people from across the country were peacefully joining in the demonstration, the biggest protest in London since a series of rallies against the Iraq war in 2003.
Wow! They sure spent a lot of ink trying to convince me that it was a peaceful protest.
The Brits have been pacified for generations by government giveaways. They get free milk on their front step each morning, courtesy of the government. Free this and free that. The government is afraid of its subjects. Brits are not "citizens" but subjects. Think about it.

The left does seem to love Europe. I listen to lefty radio and hardly a day goes by that one of the lefty talking heads isn't spouting off about how much better Europe does things.
Those countries are imploding as we watch, and the Left seems to think that we should make the same mistakes. Gone to them, should be the American exceptionalism. We have been arrogant, and as such, we need to be brought down to the level of everyone else.

I don't listen to lefty radio much, but the times I have I never heard any such thing.....who exactly are you listening to?
