Since my cat, Jack, recently decided that peeing in my plants was the thing to do, I took the plants outside. I figured killing the plants was a better plan than killing the cat. Then Jack turned his bladder-attention to the new dog beds that we'd gotten at Costco--great beds, great price!--thinking they'd be a good secondary place to use as a toilet. I was not amused.
So I was talking with a person from IMHS and found out that cedar chips are very attractive to cats. The plant has wood chips in it; how much you wanna bet they are cedar? Oh, and those dog beds from Costco? Ingredients: Foam and cedar chips.
Who knew?!

Try looking at the large people pillows in the stores. Walmart and Target used to carry some. They are usually much cheaper than pet beds and don't have cedar chips.
