It is estimated by the Humane Society of the United States that nearly 8 million animals are taken to shelters each year.
In 2010, approximately 175,000 animals were taken to shelters and rescues in the state of Colorado.
Each year, Foothills Animal Shelter takes in almost 10,000 orphaned pets.
Spaying and neutering plays a big role in decreasing pet overpopulation by preventing more litters of kittens and puppies
Spaying and neutering can be healthier for your pet. It can decrease the chance of several cancers such as testicular and ovarian.
Altering your pet can also help with behavior issues.
