Got this email and it said to share, so in the spirit of the season, I am sharing.
Warmest Wishes for a wonderful holiday from
Aspen Creek Veterinary Hospital
Tis the Season for Giving,
and in that spirit....
Aspen Creek Veterinary Hospital is currently
collecting donations for our local animal shelter,
Intermountain Humane Society. Intermountain Humane Society relies entirely upon volunteers and local donations.
Aspen Creek Veterinary Hospital will provide a complimentary pet nail trim or a complimentary pet dental exam for all persons donating items on the IMHS wish list through the end of January. You do not need to be a current client to donate or to receive these offers, so please feel free to share with your friends.
Aspen Creek Veterinary Hospital will also donate
10 lbs of dog or cat food to IMHS for all new wellness plan enrollments in December and January, as well as $1 for each new "like" on our facebook page during this same time. Have YOU "liked" us on facebook yet? If not, this is a great way to stay in touch with current events, as well as helping us donate to a great LOCAL cause.
Donations can be delivered to our office during regular business hours. Please call ahead if you will be bringing your pet for your complimentary services. Please see below for the IMHS Wish List.

Can you make room in your heart and your home this Holiday Season?
We just wanted to remind you that there are many dogs and cats at shelters and rescues across the nation that are in need of good homes. Although puppies and kittens are extremely cute (and there are some of those at the shelters too!), there are many advantages of adopting adult dogs and cats, including the fact that most are already house and litter box trained.
As always, Aspen Creek Veterinary Hospital will provide a complimentary wellness exam to dogs and cats within 30 days of adoption from a rescue or shelter. If you have a new pet or plan on adopting one soon, please don't hesitate to make an appointment with one of our great veterinarians.
When considering a new animal, whether a gift or not, take into consideration the long term consequences of this decision. Mixed breeds are often healthier with less genetic problems and can be found at many shelters. However, if you are set on a pure breed dog, make sure you understand that breed well and that it's traits are going to be complimentary to your household routine. There are many great breeds who may not be a good fit for your family or your lifestyle. You should also research common genetic ailments, average adult size, average lifespan, etc. for the breeds that you are considering. Your veterinarian can a be a great resource if you have questions about these topics.
If you are set on a purebred dog, we ask that you find a local responsible breeder rather than purchasing at pet stores, who often source their puppies from unethical "puppy mill" operations. Visiting with the breeder can help you assess the temperament of the parents, and help you understand whether that puppy will be a good fit for you when it is full grown. Adopting or buying a new animal (any animal including horses and other livestock species) is a huge responsibility and shouldn't be undertaken lightly, which is why animals typically do not make good gifts.
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes from everyone at
