Post subject: away from home when your area gets evac'ed?

f a fire breaks out in your area and you are not home and can't get 'behind the lines' to get your furbabies, what do you do?

Call the animal control folks in your county. The numbers are also on the home page:

Park County Animal Control
(Bailey) 719.836.4121 x5
JeffCo Animal Control
(Golden) 303.271.5070
Clear Creek Co Animal Control
(Georgetown) 303.679.2376

They will want to know how to get in to where you keep your pets so a hide-a-key is a good idea. Be sure to tell them if any pets are on meds and where those are.

If the fire becomes larger, Animal Control will call in other groups like Animal Evacuation Volunteers. They are trained to go behind the evacuated lines to get your pets for you.
