How many vaccines does your puppy need? Well, it depends on your puppies age
Puppies live off of their mothers antibodies until 14-16 weeks of age. Although these antibodies are important for your puppy, they can interfere with vaccines given. This is why we vaccinate every 3-4 weeks until at least 16 weeks of age. In some breeds who are more susceptible to parvo, we may even recommend a final booster after their 16 week appointment.
Until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they should not be around other dogs whose vaccine status is unknown.
