Trail Riding Workshop that is ongoing BEGINNING May 15
Get your horse and you in shape to do an ACTHA ride on June 13!
Become proficient at communicating with your horse better and enjoy your rides more knowing that you are ready and able to face any obstacle you may encounter. Gates, water, bridges, hat pick up, logs, jumps, backing through a pattern, uphill, downhill, stop, canter, mailbox, noise control, banks, trot transitions...the list goes on.
Each ACTHA ride is about 6 miles with 6 judges and 6 obstacles. Obstacles are chosen from a list of about 20, but you don't know which will be on the ride until you show up that day, so you need to be ready for anything from crossing a bridge or water to trotting over a log jump. You will need to join this organization to participate in the rides offered ($25 for the year) Cash Prizes awarded!

Ride English or Western, no training tack--tie downs, martingales, etc. allowed. You must use a saddle and either a bridle or hackamore. Open, Pleasure and Junior categories as well as a Buddy Rider category.
Each workshop will run up to 6 hours or as long as it takes to get each horse and rider team to complete the task(s) for that day.
Beginning on May 15 at 10AM at Bridlewood, will be the first workshop with others following on each Saturday at the same time, but at different locations (TBA). May 15 will be a bit of a longer day to evaluate riders and horses and to set our goals for getting horses fit and able. Cost will depend on number of entrants, number of workshops needed/attended and will be settled at the first session on May 15. If you choose to only attend this one, cost is $50 per horse/rider team.
The first obstacle training is May 22 at Beaver Ranch and will be Water crossings and Bridge crossings.
You may participate in the Workshops even if you don't plan on doing any of the ACTHA rides and you may participate in as many or as few Workshops as you desire.
