Foothills Animal Shelter, one of the largest animal shelters in the metro Denver area, is excited to start offering dog training classes in March to the public. Classes are available to help dogs become happier and better companion animals regardless of their age, breed or size. BASIC OBEDIENCE: •Description: This class is for dogs who have completed Pawsitively Puppy or are 8 months and older. In this class, dogs will fine tune leash training, manners, sits, downs, recalls and will learn leave it, watch and calm. •Dates: Thursdays (3/3-4/7) OR Saturdays (3/5-4/9) •Location: Foothills Animal Shelter (580 McIntyre Street, Golden, 80401 on the Jefferson County Fairgrounds near 6th Avenue and Indiana) •Times: Thursdays (7-8 p.m.) OR Saturdays (10-11 a.m.) •Price: Classes are $120 per six-week session. For dogs adopted from Foothills Animal Shelter, the classes are discounted to $110 per six-week session (a savings of $10).
