This just a scare tactic to raise prices by getting the paranoid right to think (again) they are losing the right to bear arms.
You are being manipulated in the most simplistic and crass fearmongering' way. Nobody is taking your bullets away.

Your OP reminded me of the hilarious race to stock up on ammo just before Obama was sworn in. Stores couldn't keep it on the shelves because the dingbats were so sure he was going to take away their guns.

Everything is going up in part because of fuel prices. Why would be ammo be any different?

Sure enough, the hemline is going to be raised again because of gas prices. Everything is interrelated to the price of fuel.

With all of the sudden rises, the only thing being reduced in price is Viagra because of the lack of need.

I am doing a public service annoucement for those in need. I will not sell my vast ammount of inventory at this time unless someone wants some 30.06 AP rounds $480 per case.

This rise will happen as the powers that be want it to as in the past.

The reaction to the notice that ammo prices will rise is priceless. Perhaps reflection on that reaction will provide a means for personal growth.
