The Department of Wildlife also hosts a FREE Family Fishing Clinic for beginning anglers on June 4, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Quail Lake in Colorado Springs to introduce fishing basics, casting techniques, knot tying, fish identification and fishing ethics. The DOW provides the poles, the bait and instruction. The first 500 kids accompanied by an adult get FREE rods and reels to keep. The lake is west of the World Arena, off E. Cheyenne Mountain Blvd., Colorado Springs; for more information, 719-227-5200. The entire program is part of National Fishing & Boating Week.
