I had a fishing fanatic co-worker (now retired) who pulled a humongous Brook Trout (it had a huge belly) out of one of the ponds at the I-70/Copper Mtn Junction. He wouldn't tell me which one. It was the size of a large Brown. Its belly looked like a large mouth bass.

Yeah I don't know if these are 5 year old stockers are naturally occuring fish, but we had one that broke the net and got away..It was near dark and I had to ask my kid "was that even a trout?"
That really got us excited..That fish is why we go back almost every day
I mean that was good- Here's the recipe..A little sea salt, pepper, a secret spice (don't ask) , pan fry on a medium heat in a little unsalted hand churned butter for about 3 minutes on each side..I filleted those and threw the remains off the deck..A fox imeadiatly came up and got it so nothing went to waste. Served with 100% Basmati Rice, a vegtable medley and a super lite beer. I don't think I could feel much better if I tried
