Jeffco Open Space: Opening the North Fork Trail in Reynolds Park

We're thrilled to announce the opening of the long-awaited North Fork Trail on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Six years in the making, the 9.3-mile North Fork Trail represents a significant addition to the Jeffco Open Space system. It runs along the east side of Reynolds Park, crosses private property and connects to the South Platte and the wealth of associated recreation opportunities.

One of the most exciting parts of this connection is that it creates a lengthy trail experience through one of the most spectacular areas of the county. With the North Fork Trail designated as multiuse, Reynolds Park now provides a larger variety of experiences for visitors. All trails east of South Foxton Road, which splits Reynolds Park, will now be available to mountain bikers as well as hikers and equestrians. The trails west of South Foxton Road will remain hiker- and equestrian-only.

The North Fork Trail is 9.3 miles point-to-point with varied slope and tread conditions. Plan ahead for an extended out-and-back experience or enlist a friend to pick you up at one end to return to the trailhead.

We're grateful for our partnership with Denver Water and Colorado State Trails Grant funds, which supported this project. Thanks also to the Trail Stewardship Team, Jeffco Open Space trail crews and other staffers, and the many volunteers who helped make the North Fork Trail a reality.

We hope you visit Reynolds Park soon and check out this amazing addition for yourself.

Happy Trails,

Randy Frank
Region Supervisor

This looks like so much fun!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
